I see I can download 9-11 One Day In America and I'll watch the first episode and see what its like.

It's fascinating... but be aware that it's very upsetting.

Twenty years on and I still remember exactly where I was and who I was with at the time it happened... I think most people do.

I just watched episode 1 and even though I live on the other side of the earth, it is very distressing even after 20 years. I've watched a lot of footage about 9-11, but this is pretty horrific. Those fire fighters were real hero's.

I've got the next 5 episodes but will probably watch them over the next week or so.

There's no way I can watch this. Twenty years ago I was watching the TV while I did the ironing when it happened. I can still remember the awful feeling that swept over me when I saw the news that interrupted the programme that had been on.

Last night I watched the England vs Hungary game, then the first episode of a new 6 part a fascinating (but awful in terms of subject matter) documentary
9/11: One Day in America

They've found a load of new footage from the day and it's presented really well.
We all know what happened so there was no need to over-dramatize it and it's really sympathetically done. Most of the narration is done by survivors.

Parts are (obviously) horrible to watch so I can't recommend it, you have to decide for yourself if you can sit through it. I almost stopped watching a couple of times, it really is distressing... but it deserves to be seen.
(if you comment on this please avoid any politics, I know it's tricky given the subject matter)

Yes, it would be a tough watch; that's a day that didn't just affect Americans, it affected the world. There are many old movies and TV programs that show the tower and every time it's a sad reminder.

I watched another episode last night and although it's not easy to see all the horrible events that took place, some of the stories that the survivors tell are truly inspiring.
Ordinary people doing extraordinary things to help others.

Last night they mention flight 93, the final plane that was hijacked and how the passengers overpowered the attackers and brought the plane down somewhere that there would be a lot less damage on the ground.

They knew that they would die doing it, but did it anyway. Remarkable bravery.
They made a film about Flight 93 (that's its title by the way) which I saw a while back and although it's not a documentary, all the events portrayed are (as far as I know) true.

I think I've got two more episodes to go and so far the first one has been the hardest one to watch, I think it's the shock of seeing such clear and detailed images, where before I just remember seeing shaky distant views of the towers.

Last night I'd only just started to watch Double Jeopardy maybe 10 minutes in when suddenly i got such a fright, I was fighting to stay on the couch or something; I must have briefly dozed off and maybe though I was falling of the couch, I'm not sure but my whole body was jolting. I didn't miss much of the movie, so whatever happened it happened very fast, in such a short amount of time. Anyway watched the movie to the end, then watched some Clickbait series.

Another episode of 9/11 last night and this one looked at what happened when the second tower collapsed. Some really shocking images which, again, I'd never seen before... and more heartbreaking stories.

After that I started watching a new Norwegian series:
Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes
a weird story about a young women who is left for dead following an attack, but wakes up with a sudden urge for blood.

Not as grim as it sounds, there's a lot of (very) dark humour.
Annoyingly, Netflix messed up the subtitles so I had to watch the English dubbed version.

Normally I prefer to watch the original language with subtitles, but the subs were "closed caption" which not only translates, but describes everything that's going on. Very annoying.
