English is my first language. I can speak a little French but not as much as when I was a teenager. I've forgotten most of it despite learning French for 7 years at school. When I go abroad on holiday I like to learn a few words in the local language, especially please and thank you.
Edit to add: Unfortunately I forget those few words within a year if I don't need to use them.
