The first Ni no Kuni was a masterpiece. Felt like jumping into a Miyazaki film. What the hell happened with the sequel?

In my opinion, 1 and 2 are 2 very separate story lines. I enjoyed the second one, but not as much as the first one. There's also a Ni No Kuni mobile game, but I no longer have much time to dive into new games.

The story wasn't my only issue with the second game, it was the dumbing down of gameplay that made it such a bore to get through. Kingdom building was OK I suppose.
