I’ve been keeping an eye on this thread and have read more on the subject. Let us just say that I was raised in a restrictive non secular home, talk about getting bats in the belfry when you’re born a free thinker.
Now, I’m not a convert but I do find this subject interesting and have some more enquiries/thoughts for you.
“One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason. “ Now how far one takes their reasoning for doing so is an individual decision that I hope is done in the name of those who need it and not for the proverbial pat on the back, imho.
“One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.” YES! to the science of what we are capable of in this moment.
Ooo, and I’m fond of this particular one, “The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word. “ I’m thinking that we have lost our way as humans on this one. Since when did one need a post-it note to be compassionate?
This is the one I would really like to ask about…Hee hee hee….
“…highlight religion hypocrisy, and exposing christian privilege. ”(I hope I haven’t cut the verbiage of the tenets too much to make my point.)
Back to my enquiry… Some of these tenets and missions are what humans SHOULD be doing in their lives without question. but do you have examples of what has been done to bring awareness or possible change to the hypocrisy etc?
And what about other religious entities? Is there hypocrisy there as well that the collective you try to expose?
I know you mention some laws but other examples as well?
If these are too loaded to answer for the forums, no worries, mine was just a thought in my head after reading the ongoing thread. You have made this an informative thread and quite the study in sociology
