Episode 8 was a good one.

I guess I gave Spencer (a lot) more credit than he deserved :@

For once, I thought he
might
do something intelligent, such as try to contaminate the food before handing it over to Rick/Negan.

But no. His grand plan was to try to sweet-talk Negan....
Anyone paying attention to what was going on would know that things were the way they were - or happened the way they did - because Negan wanted them that way.

Trying to play politics with Negan....convince him that things should be any other way....yeah, that was a dumb move.

Kudos to Ann Mahoney (Olivia) and Seth Gilliam (Gabriel) for some great acting in this episode. Even when they didn't have dialogue.

i still cant get over the wake up call during denises heart felt speech, usually when they are having a moment its all calm but not in the walking dead, but why they left it at such a cliffhanger is annoying but between the hilltop, alexandria and the kingdom they should have enough man power to take negan on if they are smart enough.

I think gregory is going to get in their way though he has already tried handing over maggie to the saviours but jesus had other ideas it can go pretty much anywhere now and we have to wait 4 weeks to find out what happens next

I don't like Rick. If it wasn't for Rick, the gang would probably have a really nice place by now. But instead, Rick keeps messing things up for everyone else. He's a bad leader.
without rick, they'd all be zombies

his plans aren't bad plans, the creators of the comics and the show just can't let the group be happy and safe because... that would be pretty boring. So every time he overcomes an obstacle, he's given a new one

the people in alexandria were fine until rick came along because they weren't part of the show. If they had been, they'd have been wiped out ages ago, no one's going to watch them live happily and peacefully for 5 seasons. His plan to lure the zombies (that miraculously appeared two seconds after he got there) away wasn't a bad plan... it's just, it's a show, obviously a good plan isn't going to work unless it makes the story more interesting

I am still recovering from Jesse dying, lol.

But this season has so far had the usual shock opening episode and then, well, there are way too many characters and it all seems a little formulaic, as if they are struggling to come out with the next sensational happening which can only be death. And let's face it, there has been plenty of that. Where does it go from here?

Oh yes, Rick rallies the troops, they take down the bad guy, big battle, maybe another major cast member and several of the lesser knowns will die and so we catapult into the next season.

Which will consist of meeting the bad guy who runs the established community, someone dies and..and..and..

It is losing it's appeal just a tad.
They can't be tamed, these wilder things.

They definitely need to introduce an endgame to the series. It's spinning its wheels way too much right now.

I used to watch it with a group of people, and like half of them no longer watch the series. The common complaint I hear is too many boring/filler episodes about characters they don't care about, and disillusionment after that mishandled cliffhanger at the end of last season. The creators really shot themselves in the foot with that one and made a lot of people angry.

I never watch them when they initially air anymore, but catch up all at once through my cables on demand service. It's still an okay series and still watchable, but they really need to head to some sort of conclusion. I think they need to introduce a cure, or at least a fight to find the cure. I know Robert Kirkman believes this series can go on indefinitely, but it really can't. Even the best series have a limited shelf span.
The Catcher in the Rye caught a Catch-22.
