They aren't "filler" and do you really think that's what the Governor is trying do? He might still have some enmity towards the prison group, but by now he's a changed man (kind of). I doubt Martinez (member of his old crew, and the guy who found him in the pit) is going to send his group to die just because someone who is no longer his boss said so. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

popeye is back to his normal killing rampage and now hes got a tank!

i liked those headless corpses story ,too bad the guy was already dead cause he would have been a great new character.

back to popeye at the end of the episode , hes not gonna shoot michonne cause he wants her alive so he can torture her , but he might shoot hershel to try and lure michonne so she follows him back to his new gang , cause shes not gonna wait for backup shes gonna go berzerk and chase him right away.

and the prison is not gonna last much longer now , cause of the tank!

I just don't understand this show I guess, or more to the point, the writing as it concerns character development. They had an interesting story with the Governor maybe changing his ways and becoming more of a nicer guy, then bam, he's back to being a more traditional villain. He turns on everyone and I feel like the only one he truly cares about is the little girl he's protecting. (Her mother I feel he could turn on in a moments notice like everyone else close to him.) So now we have the old governor back looking with envy at the prison to maybe attack it and create a second Woodbury for his new followers/people.

He was basically an uncaring, moody, and lost individual a show again, then he finds a new reason to live, and now it's back to status quo governor. A controlling psychopath who will do anything to keep his power. Under a delusion that he is doing it to protect his "people".

And for one episode they give another character some development, then kill him. As in we learn a little more about Martinez, and see him in a different light other than just the tough looking enforcer with a gun, then yep, he's zombie chow. So, if your a secondary charter in this show, it seems beneficial to your health to just stay in the background and don't bring too much attention to yourself. lol

Um, did you miss the part where Martinez, while drunk, tells the Governor that he can't lead the group by himself nor protect them? The Governor did in fact change, but now he has a new family where he will do anything to protect them and he knows he has to be the one leading. Hell, if I was in the Governor's spot, I would have killed Martinez if he told me that, especially since he abandoned him at night.
