do dads or men in general have a chemical in their brains that make them do/act certain ways?

because this morning i heard someone mowing their yard and i jumped outta bed and thought to myself "if anyones gonna mow they yard its gonna be me" then proceeded to mow my yard but im not even sure i actually heard someone mowing or if my brain made me do it for no reason

also all the weird noises i make when getting up as a dad or all my dad jokes are we just wired to be weird?

There is such a thing as a mum brain, so there is probably a thing called dad brains.

Maybe you heard someone mowing there lawn or you dreamed it, I would say it was that recognition with the noise that got you to want to mow the lawn.

I am presuming you're a dad, kids love weird so play with it... (Just not in public :P )

Yeah, it's called testosterone. But don't think it's exclusive to men because women have it flowing through their veins, too, just as men have estrogen flowing through their veins.

Sometimes, I think the two hormones battle it out and which one wins is the way we act. Some men refuse to get in touch with their feminine side and some women refuse to get in touch with their masculine side. The battle continues.

I never had a dad and I've never been a dad so I cant really relate to this thread, but I have a mum so maybe I got that mum brain thing going on.

I never knew my father, didn't even know my mother knew who he was untill just over 10 years ago.

I believe you need kids to use the expression??

Well, this made me laugh.

And it sounds like you are a bit competitive haha.
glad i could make u laugh with my weird brain :D

It is because this could have been written by my husband. He totally uses dad jokes and the expression " if anyone is going to x, it is going to be me" in the exact way you used it.

I'm far more structuted than he is. He even says that I am happiest if I need to 11 things but only have time for 10 - and only if that 11th thing is something that can be put off, lest I get overwhelmed.

So, for him, he would do the lawn if he heard someone else doing it as it would serve as a reminder. For me, I'd cut the lawn in the time I would schedule for it. Different triggers, I guess?
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

I bet your christmas lights must be better than next doors lol

Idk about the dad thing but it sounds to me as more of a male dominance thing rather than a dad thing, a dad thing to me would involve dressing my kids better or buying them better things lol.

Cutting the grass is just a "you cut yours, i'll cut mine louder" haha

Much love

Scouse - Even if i'm wrong, class topic hah!
