You thought you heard someone mowing their lawn.
You got up and mowed yours.
Sounds like your grass needed mowing and you were procrastinating. Or somewhere in your self consciousness you thought it needed mowing.
You were having a guilt trip.
But is this to do with "Dads" or just to do with being adult Male?
I was responding to this:
because this morning i heard someone mowing their yard and i jumped outta bed and thought to myself "if anyones gonna mow they yard its gonna be me" then proceeded to mow my yard but im not even sure i actually heard someone mowing or if my brain made me do it for no reason
He was asleep; He thought he heard someone mowing their lawn; He had a driving force to mow his yard. What he doesn't say is if the lawn actually needed mowing or if he just done it yesterday or the day before.
I'm assuming it needed mowing. Would he actually jump out of bed, thinking he heard someone mowing, and mow a lawn that had just been mowed? I wouldn't. I'd turn over in bed with the peaceful feeling that mine was done.
That's why I said he had been procrastinating and was on a guilt trip. His subconscious mind kicked him in the butt and told him to get out of bed and do it ("I'm not even sure I actually heard someone mowing..." ). The subconscious mind is capable of producing hallucinations as a way of communication. I'm not talking about mental illness. There's not enough room to discuss how the conscious mind and the subconscious mind communicate to each other. However, it is interesting reading and the research was fascinating.
