Just listened to it, and I don't think I've heard it before.
Last year with the outbreak of the Ebola virus a number of threads were created in the Off Topic section about this.
All eventually ended up with a lock.
The reason being it may upset people.
Now there is a thread about 'breast cancer month in the General forum.
Cancer is a real life disease as is Ebola both are comparable in the upsetting stakes.
I thought I'd ask on the review thread about it and if that was deemed acceptable then in my mind threads such as the Ebola ones should also be deemed acceptable. I'd put cancer as a more upsetting disease myself as it is more likely to have impacted the runescape player base I guess.
In response to my post on the review Matthe says the thread is appropriate, obviously he ignored the part about Ebola threads etc being locked for that reason and failed to give any sort of reasoning as to why or if there is going to be any change in the way those sort of threads are moderated, so rather than waste any more of my time posting there I'm here instead.
Now where does this leave the rule? Is it another of those we'll do what we want regardless of the rules?
