That's smart, pay hundreds of dollars during a recession to watch some dudes throw a ball across a field for 2 hours, and for what? To be entertained? Go home and watch the game for free if you want to be entertained.
That doesn't mean anything. A fan means I like a certain product of somebody. It doesn't mean "fork over 20 dollars for an album". Besides some of the things I play, like NES games, cannot be found normally, and would cost a lot of money.
And also, the money I would pay for it wouldn't go to Nintendo, so what would be the point?
Another example: Say I like a youtuber and he uploads reviews of things for free. Now lets say he has DVDs available of said videos, would I not be a true fan if I didn't buy his DVD's?
