Herring are very similar to juvenile salmon. ... Herring have a much larger eye than the salmon and the head is more rounded. The tail has black tips and the scales of the fish are rough to touch. Herring reach sexual maturity between about 19 and 21 cm and can grow to around 41 cm.

If you're going to nitpick someone's use of the English language, at least double check that your own use is apt.
Or how about we just don't nitpick people's use of the language? Clearly the message being conveyed was understandable, even with the typos. I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great!
