I've just had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as a niggling realisation has dawned on me. Maybe it's not going to be peace and quiet after all.
Some of my girlfriends get really hyped for Valentine's Day and get really, seriously pissed off if their partners don't make a big deal out of it (flowers, card, gift, over-priced meal out and so on).
I've never understood this, never having taken a blind bit of notice of Valentine's Day - ever.
I've never done anything for it, honestly. I don't like flowers, and I don't like chocolate, and really going out for a nice date can be done any other time.
Arrr! Only th' Devil an' I know th' where'bouts o' me treasure, an' th' one o' us who lives th' longes' should take i' all.
Awww, I love flowers but the Ole Man buys me a bunch every Friday .... why wait for Valentine's Day?
Chocs are a no-no for me now ( *cries* ) and I agree it's far nicer to go on a date any random time. Places always tout "Special Valentine Day Dinner" ... but it's just the same old steak and chips (or whatever) that they serve year-round anyway - just more expensive because of the wilting single rose on the dining table, lol.
I need some loud music. Hope the snow muffles the sound so the neighbors don't call the cops... and if the cops come, well, I hope they bring a shovel.
Love is fucking stupid. I hate whoever invented it.
