The United States is a Republic, which means we elect representatives to make laws for us. That's why no one in the USA goes to the polls to vote on laws, because we have representatives to do that.
Republicans and democrat are just names of political parties.

The representatives aren't exactly working. I believe all American citizens should be able to vote on laws. Hell, just try to be able to make it so they can vote online. That'd be way easier.
