I think amazing is pushing it a bit...its good and vey enjoyable to watch I admit. the female lead isn't totally useless as well which is a plus...but its still a harem anime in the end...reminds me of campione

started watching strike the blood, current at ep 13 (all that's out) - have to say it's an amazing anime, reminds me a lot of DxD (i know not many people think there's plot.. but if a MC who has the power to rival god isn't plot then.. well i don't know what is)

It doesn't have a good plot, but it has good PLOT.

Is 'plot' code for 'rack', becasue thats the only way I could think to put 'amazing' and 'like highschool DxD' in the same sentence. Not that that was really my impression of them, but the majority of us already know how I feel about the subject.

Anyways, continuing my campaign of voluntary torture by at least attempting to watch everything that's new this season. 6 shows in and the rankings, in my usual style of reviewing things with single words and onomatopoeia, are as follow:

Space Dandy: 'Meh'
Sakura Trick *Schwing!*
Pupa '*sigh*' (formerly 'bleh')
Super Sonico: The Animation: *ahhhhhtsssssh*
sekai seifuku - bouryaku no zvezda: 'errrr'
Noragami: 'mhmmm'

And now, the part where I explain what the sound effects mean.

Space Dandy is nice visually, end praise here. Yeah, these kind of 'for the westerners' shows have never sat right by me and I've never found them to be very enjoyable, and for all the stuff about how this will 'save anime' or whatever, to the point that Funi is simuldubbing it, it's not really that entertaining. If your going to make a series all fluff and no substance and have it appeal to me, it has to be cute. Space Dandy has pretty much 0% cute, and 0% of anything else, so.... yeah.

Sakura Trick: This is for the record, I like 'alternative' types of human relations, anything that mixes up the status quo. It's been a long time since I saw a yuri series which is quite so up front about the fact and, indeed, puts so much effort into portraying the fact. Now, I'll grant the cynical that this show is only a mildly funny SOL/comedy if you take out the yuri, but hey, it works as a package deal.

Pupa - 3 FREAKING MINUTES!?! I imagine we all know where this is going, so- This is the anime is was looking forward to the most this season (or rather, last season...) becasue the plot is just, for lack of a better word, nasty...and gross...and weird and that, folks, is what I like about anime. It's not afraid to go into territory that other media outlets would never touch.

This show COULD have been awesome for that, not really for the plot (read the first bit of the manga, it's not all that once you get accustomed to the fact that they are fetishizing cannibalism through the lens of 'intersibling-relations') but just as an outright gorefest and a celebration of humanities darker side, but instead it had to be a three minute, cheaply animated pile of nada because the subject matter is to squicky. Might as well not have bothered really.

Sonico: Christ almighty, is this what passes for entertainment nowdays. The sound, for those who are wondering, is the sound of my braincells creaming in agony as they burn out from the utter inanity of what was on my screen. This show is just... nothing. No radar signature, no sonar blip, no heat, no pulse, no signs of life, zippo. Not a single damn thing happens, this show might as well just be 24 minutes of a slow revolving pan around it's main character, becasue THAT is exactly how much content it contains....

Sekai Seifuku - Bouryaku no Zvezda: The 'errr' is me trying to decide whether I like this show or not. It ticks several of my boxes in that it's a little weird, a little funny and a little sad, but although I know I should have enjoyed it I'm still not that into it. I think what it is is that I would have prefered it to be a little more serious and a little more straight laced, rather than trying to be all 'look at all these zany weird people' quite so immediately.

Noragami: Ok, this I can do. Not very original and only reasonable levels of everything, but this show benefits from a high level of skill in execution and doesn't really waste anything. That's really my only opinion on the show but suffice to say that I enjoyed it, and the only thing thats bugging me about it is the fact that I'm pretty certain the MC is voiced by the same guy as Otonashi from Angel Beats (which just makes me think of him every time Yato opens his mouth)

Just finished watching Steins Gate Dejavu the movie and Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part III: Rebellion

Both movies are sequel of their respective series and made outstanding closure to their respective plots. I'm very pleased in watching those two one after another. Had a great weekend.

lol

The S;G movie was a rehash of the show, but with Kurisu and Okabe's roles reversed. It literally exists solely to provide more masturbatory material for fans of Kurisu. I mean, they reused the exact same plot devices -- just as Kurisu accepts Okabe's advice to forget his existence, Suzuha appears in the magic problem-solving time machine and provides an opportunity for Kurisu to correct the Steins; Gate worldine. Gee, how original. They even spew the same "your future self said that you'd know what to do" along with the botched first-attempt resulting in accidental death. The movie was completely predictable and completely boring.

On the other hand, what closure did Madoka:Rebellion provide? They assassinated Homura's character (the subs weren't very good, but honestly, "nobody has ever felt this feel before" was laughable justification and completely out of left field), and extended the Godoka ending of the show to revive Mami, Sayaki, and Kyouko, and of course, Madoka herself. The cast has been reassembled and Homura is posed to be the antagonist in what I presume will be the next movie, so no, there isn't any closure.

i dunno man, i seriously enjoyed it a lot - the number of times it made me laugh and smile was extremely high - had me constantly entertained and well everything i wanted in a "good" (subjective term) anime

i really enjoyed the story most of all and once again i'm aware how some people feel about DxD and "story" but he's the first MC which hasn't annoyed me for being a little ... dog (no bad words!)

but hey i understand where you're coming from on that :p
