I actually like one piece. Although I'd have to point out When I watched it a marathoned from episode 1 till the time skip. Since then it's been painfull watching episode by episode. I've started noticing they have pointless stalls (like dbz but lacking the awesomness because of lack of intensity)

Have you seen Hataraku Maou-sama already? Although it does not take place in a fantasy world, I personally would still consider it as a fantasy story. The story feels almost as lighthearted as the shows that you mentioned in my opinion, plus it has plenty of comedy with a slight bit of romance in it aswell.

So I love plenty of JRPGs, my favorite as of recently is Ni No Kuni, however...I've never really watched many animes though have a feeling I would really like them. So I made one of my new year resolutions to start watching them.
A friend recommended to me a show called One Piece...but I was just curious what the RSOF have to say as to what animes should I start on to watch?
Thanks!
That really depends on what genre you're into. OP has a little of everything, but is mostly geared towards a younger audience. So if you're into blatant, bonk-on-the-head sort of humor you'll be able to appreciate that series.
It does have a lot of sad moments too, like Ep. 6 and Ep. 19 (i crie erytiem).
The first series I watched was Rosario + Vampire (the English dub). It was clearly intended for a male audience, as there was a lot of "fanservice". Because of this, many people didn't care for it. However it was what got me into anime.
