Ah, Touhou, my love. I find you everywhere.
On-topic... I'd like to talk about Umineko no Naku Koro ni.
Simple: Never watch that anime. If you watch it you'll probably think "it's ok", but...
I've read 6 episodes of the Visual novel (Oh, sorry Ryukishi07, I meant Sound novel) and it's the most awesome novel I've ever read.
Umineko anime covers EPs 1-4. It... is disgusting. Studio Deen has turned one of the best novels into a random gore possesed-loli anime. Yeah, "originals are better than movies or animated versions", but if you can, read the novels. There's a group translating them, they're working at EP7 at the moment.
That's my review of Umineko.

Mmm, i heard that adaptation decay had caused pretty low sales, and thats why they werent planning on a second season once chiru is finished.
I just got up to the end of the first twilight of the first chapter in the novel (bodies in the garden shed). Thus far im yet to spot any distinct difference. The only thing ive learned so far that i didnt already know was Natsuhi's eternal headache, which dosent seem very important.

Also, has anyone noticed that the japanese anime companies seem to have figured out that theres a market for their stuff beyond the shores of Japan?
Prior to last month, ide never seen any instances of them putting English subs on their stuff, and in the last month ive heard of it happening twice (Black Rock Shooter OVA and the Lyrical Nanoha movie, accoding to ANN).

I think they also put subs on Touhou Musoukakyô OVA, 1 year ago... but that was doujin stuff.
They get more money having their anime licensed in English, I think. Because animes often come with DVDs, figures, merchandising and all that stuff.
Distributing it worldwide it's difficult.
Well, that's my theory. I'll look for more information.
EDIT: About Umineko... just keep reading and you'll see it's awesome. Mostly the music.

Autumn 2010 huh, ive bee watching the countdown to the new stuff for the last couple of weeks now. Bout time they continued index (still waiting for those DVD's funimation...)...

Ah right, so what else have we got this season...
Not really much that jumps out at me as being worth watching save for the second season of Index, geuss this is gonan be one of those "watch the first episode of everything" seasons.
Also - Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai - wha the heck is with that title??? Its already taking flak just for that :P
