Anyone seen Black Butler? I just finished watching it and I loved it, and I'm looking for an anime that's just as good as it, suggestions? I haven't watched much anime in the past few years, but I want something that's drawn really well too.

I'll never understand why people always seem to start that question with 'does anyone watch' as opposed to 'has anyone watched'. Dunno why, but its always bugged me....

Anyways, anybody checked out the first episode of Rooster Teeth's new show 'RWBY'? It's not an anime since it doesn't have the Japanese roots, but I figured ide mention it anyway because it's very anime-like, lots of anime influence in the production. Not just in the character design either, the plot and premise are something I would expect of anime as well.

^ Nope, never heard of it.

I'm actually considering watching Dragon Ball but I don't know... Somebody come talk some sense into me. The length is really off putting; 153 episodes would be alright but then another 291 for DBZ is just so much. And no, I will not watch Dragon Ball Kai. If I'm going to watch it at all I will watch the original version.

I never watched Dragonball Z as a kid so I feel like I'm missing out on some huge inside joke among everyone in my age group. On the other hand, **** watching hundreds of episodes that are mostly filler.

On another note:

I'm taking Jap 101 at UNC and only one other sophomore signed up which means there will be 13 freshmen in my class. How screwed am I? Will I be surrounded by weebs that wear Naruto headbands and don't hide their powerlevel?

^ I don't really mind fillers to be honest.

You go to UNC? Lolol, I live like 50 mins away from the campus. You sound pretty screwed though, just don't even talk to any of them. "Anime? What's anime? Never heard of it..."

Gomenasai, my name is Ken-Sama.

I’m a 27 year old American Otaku (Anime fan for you gaijins). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Japanese games. (Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Persona series)

I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Japanese fluently, both Kanji and the Osaka dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Japanese history and their bushido code, which I follow 100%

When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Tokyo to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Studio Ghibli or a game designer!

I own several kimonos, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Japan, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Wish me luck in Japan!
