Doing the laugh is the easy part, its not choking on your own tongue that's the difficult part.

*Sigh* Parents, they just don't seem to understand my hobbies. I was telling my mother about the Clannad fanboy from Youtube and gave a her a bit of a rundown about the plot of Clannad AS, to which she exclaimed in stunned disbelief her surprise that such a thing would be the plot of an anime. So I says to her 'what, you didn't think it was all **** and blood did you?' and she's like 'YES!'.
I'll get her to watch an anime one of these days. I've tried countless times to get her to watch Usagi Drop because I know she would like it, but she always insists that she dosent have time to watch cartoons...

My dad has seen twice as much anime as I have. Funny, because I was the one who got him into it when I used to watch Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim when I was like 6, then I never really watched anything else. I would watch the occasional anime with him every few months once I got a little older. Then near the end of sophomore year I was bored so I started watching some DVDs he had which got me fully into it.
As far as my mom goes... I know she's seen some Ghibli movies and Ah! My Goddess.

Jesse, you're not alone. Even in the anime club at my school, no one seems to share my opinions on anime (well, there were two guys, but they're at coooollege now *rolls eyes*). When my copy of Steins;Gate first arrived, my mom and sister decided to read the synopsis, only to be confused by it's complexities and how much it differed from their soap operas, occasional sitcoms, and crappy reality tv. Though, I'm kinda glad my parents don't understand or care about anime. If they cared enough to look up some of the stuff I watch*****t would be flipping >9000 km in the air. :P

After watching a few episodes of To LOVE-Ru with my friends, I'm considering to stop watching the ecchi genre. They're good and all, but I just can't seem to look past what's actually going on. I mean...really...the kid is really in love with someone, but can't be with her or he'll cause the Earth to blow up. All the ecchi stuff just makes my heart wrench. But I will say this, that this is why I absolutely LOVE Sora no Otoshimono. It's all pure slapstick and there's no drama going on that'd **** me off.

hmm i don't think i have watched any real actiony anime of late, if the one piece anime is even half as good as the anime i would recommend that to you.
a couple ones i do remember that are worth watching would be fate zero and Darker then black, however gurren laggon would be closer to naruto and dbz then those 2 if your looking for something similar
