I've watched Castle in the Sky countless times and I still love it as much as the first time I watched it. It's one of those movies that never gets old. You will definitely enjoy it! :D
Spirited Away was my personal favorite of the his movies, the way he captured the transformation from a child mentality in to a more mature adult mentality was just incredible. The whole spiritual and magic feel of that movie just makes it stand out in my mind.
One thing that I always love about his movies is the music. Just hearing the music from his movies (particularly Spirited Away and Castle in the Sky) puts my mind at ease and lets me relax. For those of you who don't know most of the music for his movies is composed by Joe Hisaishi. I actually ended up getting a bunch of his music on CD's because it's one of the few things that can really get me relaxed.
Edit: If you haven't seen it yet, Howell's Moving Castle is another fantastic one!

You know when you've seen an anime, and you liked what you saw, but arent entirly sure what it was you actually just saw and therefore dont actually know why you liked it?
This is exactly the way i feel just now, having just finished watching a new OVA called "Black Rock Shooter". It introduces us to a dark, creepy, gothic looking world where a girl is running around with some sort of giant, scifi-esque firearm attached to her arm and then....
We're in the middle of suburbia, being introduced to your average japanese schoolgirl attending an average japanese school, attending club and meeting a new friend who ends up going missing, all the while being shown occasional 20 second scenes of the gothic place, while the gun girl (bears a resemblance to the main character, and to a certain vocaloid character) is fighting a person who looks like the missing friend.
Then at the very end, she gets transported by a mobile phone strap into some random dimension where she talks with the shooter girl, and they kinda...merge...or something
THE END

And i still have no idea what the hell happened. From what i can tell, there isnt even any source material (manga, light novel, visual novel, videogame ect ect)...
Anybody know? It has an english website if you wanna take a look, and the OVA was recently subbed by mazui.

Yes, the music is absolutely relaxing, dreamy, and just simply wonderful. And I have to agree with you with the music of Spirited Away as I still can remember all those harmonic notes. ^_^ It just gives me a sense of peace. Music does play a big role in that music, since it moves the people and gives them a certain mood when watching the film. And thanks, I will search for the music composed by Joe Hisaishi (I have been wanting to know who the composer was for some time now).
Oh and I have watched Howell's Moving Castle. They funny thing is that I was watching it in Spanish, while I was in vacation in México. :P The film was long, but the good kind of long. I did not see the end and I still do, which I will one day!
I just simply love all these movies and I hope to see them all. ^_^

Be careful when revealing endings to animes, because someone may be watching or would want to watch the anime, but you might have ruined it for them and make them angry. If you absolutely have to reveal something at least give the reader a spoiler alert. :P
@ Zergnaut
I have to agree that Dragonball Z is a great anime. :) Well, the first couple of seasons. I wasn't a big fan of Dragonball Z, but I do remember watching it as a little kid (and for some reason it was in Spanish :P ). I just recall Gohan having a monkey's tail and his father (Goku?) being in "Heaven". I just found out a little while ago that Gohan means rice by my cousin. O_o I just did not like it when they started creating more different Dragonball Z story lines and arcs and all that stuff.

Hehe, my bad :P
Im used to using spoiler tags for that, but i cnat use them here so i have a tendancy to forget. That said though, ay idiot could see from my opening sentence of the subject that im gonna reveal the plot.
Sooooo anyways. Turns out the OVA is based on a song which was made based on an original character design some guy posted on a blog. The song got made in vocaloid, so taht at least explains the Hatsune Miku resembalance.
Subject of...i downloaded vocaloid with Miku's voice, i still cant figure out how to get it to do anything than make it go "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah"
