^That's what they're doing, a prequel. They even have a manga for the prequel, I'd be disappointed if they didn't make the prequel.
I REALLY hope that's true, I've read the prequel and it's pretty damn good. Well, I guess we'll find out in the spring then.

We should find out long before that if its true. Is the source for this information reliable or is it just another another random forum/youtube video again.
Personally, I cant see this happening, even if it is a prequel. Doing more work to the Angel Beats franchise would involve Jun Maeda being on the writing staff, and to the best of my knowledge he's already retired from writing for Key (and their associated projects). He's been slowly handing over the scenario writing aspect for a while now, which is why Rewrite had so many 3rd party writers like Ryukishi07 involved.
In fact, if what ive heard is correct he didn't want to make Angel Beats in the first place. Something involving being burned out on his job and not being sure he would be able to produce another good tragedy story.

That's pretty much it eh. ANN usually gets tipped off to that sort of information pretty quickly so unless it appears on their site is not really trustworthy information.
For some reason, people love to declare that a second season of some anime is coming without any proof. Then gullible people believe them and it spreads, so the best policy when it comes to second season rumors is 'ANN or its not true'.
