If you're interested in mecha anime, Infinite Stratos may be worth checking out.
But just to warn you, it's classified as Action/Comedy/Romance/Mecha/School Life/Ecchi. I have no personal problem with them myself, but some people might because of the genres.
edit: It's not a "classic", it came out in 2010. Just letting you know ;)

Ugh, this is just not my week. Not only has my Ipod somehow mysteriously vanished from the living room cabinet (leaving its earphones behind), but some genius managed to spoil Clannad After Story for me, right when I had decided to finish it.
The title of the guys thread asks 'which came first, the movie or After Story. I figured that would b an easy 10 points since i could look it up on wiki, and right when I open the thread it says "*Spoiler* X does such and such" and I was like "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!". A lesson to be learned, if your going to put spoilers, put them BELOW the warning, not right next to it.
But i can now defiantly say what is that makes Clannad my least favorite of the Key animes and what lead to my original droppage.
Two reasons. The first is that when they removed a large part of the cast, it seems to me that a large part of the life and interplay which made the first series so enjoyable to watch left with them. Tomoya and the Furukawa's can only carry so much interplay before it gets a little dull.
The second is that its become to 'serious buissness' long before the need for it to become series occurs. I understand why it becomes serious (the way its trying to present the idea of maturity and growth) but again, that robs alot of the life out of what it is that makes the watching enjoyable.
Another reason why im not as big a fan, specifically of After Story, is I got the impression that the first major emotional cli(m)ax(fail censor) was kinda botched, to many things occurring in the leadup meant that it never had that single emotional focal point that has accompanies other dyings, livings, rebirths, depressing revelations and people suddenly transforming into crows for no apparent reason.
To be honest, I would have proffered the first season with a more powerful ending.

That's why spoilers are bad O_o
I decided to not watch the Clannad movie since I heard that it was bad, and that it only just summarizes the first few episodes of season one (If I recall correctly). As for the voice changes, I probably wouldn't watch it if too many original voices were changed lol; just because I'm a tiny bit picky in VA's.
I watched After Story, and I'd say that I enjoyed the first season more than the second season. Reason being is that After Story had a lot more drama packed into it and (spoiler?) how the latter half of the series focuses on Tomoya dealing with life (It's been a while since I finished, can't remember 100% correctly).
I prefer to watch anime that makes me laugh more than sit through drama, simply because sitting through drama doesn't make me feel good lol. For me, I'm actually amazed I finished both seasons of Clannad O_o

^ Bleach was ok, One piece i agree is Ftw!
@ Marinefold,
I'm kinda wondering when the next sekirei season will come out too. I'm tempted to read the manga to find out what happens next, but I'm just gonna wait till the next season comes out.
@ Cutis
I agree, Infinite Stratos is a good mecha anime. However, i must disagree with you on one thing. You mentioned the anime has Ecchi in it, however, I don't recall there being any in it. There might have been a couple women's undergarment shots (the other word is apparently censored on the forums), but that's about it if there was ecchi in it.

Well, Since i have already posted my top 10 animes, i think I should mention some animes to Avoid watching.
1. Yosuga no Sora. This anime is just plain wrong. The main guy character ends up going out with 3 girls, then in the end dumping them and going out with his sister. This is more of a hentai than a romance anime (And you will see what i mean after episode 3). This was the most confusing anime i had ever seen.
2. Aki Sora. I could sum up this anime in four words: This is a Hentai! It is listed on some anime sites as being an ecchi anime, but this is definately hentai.
3. Sora no Otoshimono. This is suppose to be funny? This was horrible. A lot of pointless things in it which i'm not going to go over on the forums. I couldn't even watch the 2nd season. The opening title and song to the 2nd season made me want to throw my computer out the window. O_o
That's pretty much my list of animes i don't suggest watching.
P.S. Notice the animes I don't like have the word 'Sora' in it? :P
