^ Pokemon games are beast <3, although the new Black/White Gen sounds really recycled and overused now. They should stick to bringing back Misty.
I don't really watch anime now, it's mostly stuff when I was a kid. Although I did read the first few volumes of Host Club(?) and it was pretty cute :D .

Depressing eh.. Bokurano is the one that always comes into my mind, and I've mentioned it a few times in this thread already.
It's about sadistic choices, double binds, and other stuff. The show shows humanity at it's worst, and at it's best (with the use of children.) It has themes such as child abuse, bullying, and death of children. It's hard to explain the anime without giving spoilers. But it has psychological content and you need to understand that content in order to enjoy the series, and you need to be able to stand what I would call depressing tales.
Aoi Bungaku might also be a depressing anime. It's an adaption of 6 classic Japanese novels. One novel in particular, No Longer Human, has themes such as drug use. I don't know much about this anime, but I think it's worth a try.

To the people who suggested School Days or are thinking of watching it;
The anime is quite graphic towards the end.
Short intro to anime school days;
There is a high school kid, about 15-16. He decides he likes this girl and they both get the same train every day. The girl is one of these timid girls and, the guy Matako doesn't really know how to associate with the females except for his long term friend (forget her name).
So, she starts to teach him about females.
Making another post which contains a SPOILER below.

SPOILER CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL BUT IN A FRIENDLY(ISH) TONE PURELY TO INDICATE THE GRAPHICNESS OF THIS ANIME:
Well, she starts talking to Makato and teaching him how to talk to females, but, she starts "practising" with him like how to talk to females etc...
In the end, Makato and his friend go, well, let's just say all the way as part of a "practice" session.
Half way through the anime, he becomes an addict, however, he learns his lesson at the end, only, it is too late because he finds out that one of his, well, partners becomes pregnant.
At the end, the pregnant partner kills him with a kitchen knife because he learned his lesson and pledged his love to the first female. After this, the female he liked at first comes in.
The two females meet in a park and then talk with one carrying a bag. They then start talking and one asks a question, the other replies "ask him yourself" just to open the bag and find his severed head in the said bag.
She then kills the pregnant girl and then slices her open to see if she really was pregnant, she, after seeing nothing concludes she was not and takes Makato's severed head onto her family's yacht so they can "be together".

Well, after reading that description I'm pretty sure I won't ever watch that anime. ;)
It's been a good week with many surprising episodes. Madoka Magica, Level E and Fractale all had a surprising plot twist. :)

I reckon Dynamics's playing up the gore a little to much. Before i watched it people has been saying to me how shockingly bloody the series was, but its just a little blood in the last 5 minutes.
The really "shocking" stuff, like Makoto getting his head chopped off or Sekai getting sliced open are more implied through speech and the angle of the camera, rather than shown.
Its like, i see more (pig) blood when i watch an episode of Deadliest Warrior then i did watching all of School Days.

PS- What is happening in Fractale? I decided not to watch past the first episode since the production company kicked up such a fuss about it being downloaded (and of course, im reign blocked from funi's stream).
