"Yakitate Japan!! (A comedy about making bread... lol) "
Ya'know, a guy i know once told me 'Japan can make a cartoon about anything'. I guess he was right...
But anywho's. I got my most recent "spend a whole lot of money on anime once every four months and then be poor for the next two weeks" shipment from the US yesterday. My collection is now to big to fit on the shelf so ive had to double stack it (and now i cant keep it alphabetized
).
Current count:
Series- 49
Movies- 11 (and not one Miyazaki in sight)
OVA's- 2
DVD's- 244
VHS's- 1
Blu-ray's- 2
Expenditure: dont even want to think about it.
I managed to pick up four of those special edition DVD released for lucky star on sale (the ones with the infamous printed T-shirts which ill never wear). Opening the first one reinforced upon me just what society thinks of anime nerds. Not only was the *-shirt size extra large (a guy twice my size would be comfortable in it...), but you also get this thing which it says is a "screen wipe", but which is actually so obviously a glasses cloth.
In other news, Siren Visual (that little Australian licensing company that you hardly even realize exists) recently listed the first 13 episodes of higurashi no naku koro ni for release on their website. I sent them an E-mail asking whether we can expect a license for Kai and Rei since they where never picked up in the US.
The response: "I hope so but to be honest, we’re not in a position to make any announcements on this one as of yet. Perhaps we will be able to around Apr or May this year."
Fingers crossed people.
OH,and PS: STUPIDBLOODYBAKASENTIAFILMWORKSSPOOLCASESBLAH!!
At least its not a rant about security tags this time. Oh yeah, and i forgot to mention

Manga for the win!
to be honest im not a fan of anime because
1.wwwaaayyyyyyyy too much filler episodes.
2. takes for ever to get any where, too much "smack talk".
3. the orignal is almost always best, & since the vast vast majority of animes are based on mangas, that means the manga has more "truth" in the story line.
4.wwwaaaayyyyy too much filler in episodes in anime.
with that being said, i would like to see who here agrees/disagrees with me!
(i figured that i could post this here, since there is no "manga thread",lol)
p.s. manga is the graphic novels that have been around in japan long before anime, & it is the art style that anime was/is based on.
