I've never actually gotten into anime before, however I am not opposed to show suggestions. I'd love to give anime a try, I have heard there is many different genres of anime? I would love it if any of you could give me some suggestions on what animes to watch.

All 3 are different genres, they all are pretty low on Fanservice, Bladedance has probably the highest, but even it is pretty tame. All three have their source material translated, so you can go read that after the fact if you want. Karin and VVV both took anime only endings, but I feel they weren't bad for what they decided on compared to the source, VVV is one of my favorite mangas, and I actually really like the route for the anime, It's almost an entirely different route, few things are similar, like a couple of the cases and the whole thing with the brooch, but everything else is different. It's a good "what-if" route if you ask me. VVV and Karin you can buy the manga digitally, Bladedance the LN's only have a fan translation.
Theres also this,, Gosick.

It's source material isn't translated, nor are the followup novels, but it's a pretty good watch I think.
Tell me what you think of those and I can recommend some others. If you like for instance action stuff, I can recommend some stuff in that genre as well, but I tried to keep it for shorter stuff that has translated source material for the most part.
But yeah, theres lots of different kinds out there. Those are just a few I really like.

My favorites are rom-coms, Slice of Lifes - which are pretty much series about ppl doing everyday things that you can just turn your brain off and relax to, and isekai - these are about ppl getting transported, or reincarnated, to an alternate world, which is literally what "isekai" means in japanese "another world" and they usually end up with magic or something of the sort.
As for some suggestions for each:
A good rom-com that im currently rewatching atm is Love After World Domination.
Its pretty much Romeo & Juliet meets Super Sentai, or as its more commonly known in the west, Power Rangers, but the one person from both side are trying to get into a relationship w/o anyone one else finding out.
Theres only 12 episodes out atm, but its 100% worth it.

As for a good Sol, Slice of Life, one of the better if not "best" is K-On!.
Its about a girl who has done much throughout her school life and one she got into high school, shes decided to change that.
Theres 2 seasons+ an OVA + a movie for this series and the movie is meant to be watched after season 2.
As for the OVA, its meant to be watched after season 1. OVAs are episodes never aired on japanese tv and usually bundled with manga volumes or blu-ray box sets.

TK's K-On! doujin series is far better than the entirety of K-On! itself, just saying,

Finally a good isekai IMO is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
Its about a 37 year old man who gets stabbed and killed and, like the title says, gets reincarnated as a slime.
Without spoiling too much he does gain some pretty ridiculous powers after reincarnating and his main goal is to make a village welcoming of all races.

Theres currently 2 seasons + 5 OVAs which are meant to be watched after season 1.
Theres also a movie that going to be released soon but its non-cannon. Which means its
not based off the source material which for this series is a LN, Light Novel.
