It relates to anime because not every anime is available in every country. She was just making a comment/joke about it.
Like even though One piece is in the UK now via Crunchyroll, last I checked I can ONLY watch up to Thriller bark before it skips straight to Wano arc.
Anyways. I just finished Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and holy shit that was magnificent. Been a while since I saw a genre twist like that.
Crunchyrolls player is crap anyways, and they refuse to put the money or time into fixing it. Half the time it doesn't load, and when it does load, you get problems like endless loops, crashing, subs not loading. It's a mess.
Vrv is functional, but their UI is shitty to say the least.
They say piracy hurts the anime and manga industry, but when the legal sites don't want to put the time and effort into keeping their sites functional and user friendly, it doesn't give much of a strong argument to be using them. At least the pirate sites are functional.

Yeah, Crunchyroll player is indeed shit.
It's why, back when I made the mistake of paying for it, I only used the TV app and the Mobile app.
Being in the UK I can't really comment on VRV.
And yeah, It's sad the pirate sites are infinitely preferable.
I hate region locks.
Yes I can see how region locks can be annoying but its something you're just going to have to deal with as they cant always give everyone the same thing.
Im sure its due to agreements or w/e as they cost a lot of money.
