Any novels you'd recommend out of those?
I'll list the stuff I've been reading:

- Monogatari series.
- Another series.
- One-Punch Man.
- The Witcher series.
- Revelation Space series.

I recommend them all. Well, One-Punch Man is a manga, so not sure if that's your thing.

Manga's not my things, though in fairness I've not given it a serious try.

And those others are licensed and I'd have to buy them instead of just downloading some pdf/epub or get them off baka tsuki? Real horror right there.

Ah, I only ever read things that are paper/physical. I've tried using e-readers too, but it just doesn't agree with me, and I find it impossible.

As for having to buy it? You could probably find all of the things I listed online pretty easily, I would assume.

Less a case of finding them and more a case of the cost I expect. Anime-related print media is real bloody expensive for what you get and how long it takes to read them. I was thinking the other day about how much I've spent on manga and light novels over the years and it's pretty staggering.

Going with average prices and assuming $20 AUD per regular volume and $30 AUD for omnibus sied ones, I've spent over $5,000 on manga...

I can add a few more Light Novels to read. Seirei Tsukai no Bladedance, Unlimited Fafnir, and Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuku Sou Desu Ka/Last Embryo.(Last Embryo is the continuation series of Mondaiji.)

Bladedance is reaching the climax, there are currently 16 volumes out, all of them translated.

Bladedance and Unliited Fafnir you can find on Baka-Tsuki, Mondaiji they had to take down due to a DMCA strike. You can find the 11 volumes that were on Baka-tsuki, as well as volume twelve which Frozen translated on Frozen's Lazy Blog. HE's currently translating volume 1 of Last Embryo, and it is good, believe me.

For Manga, Venus Versus Virus is a good one.

As for regular novels, check out Into the Black: Oddesy 1. Really good story.

And yeah, good luck finding any of the liscenced ones cheap. Anime related goods aren't cheap.

Oh, I meant that they could probably find them online for free.

However I agree, the prices of books adds up. Especially when coupled with other expensive hobbies, such as gaming and anime. Then if you're materialistic there's tons of other anime related goods that are extortionate, especially figurines.

You aren't kidding about games. A single VN runs anywhere from 50 to 100+ dollars. Quite a bit considering most AAA games max out at around 40 dollars, most generally running around 30 or so.

Thens there's the whole finding a way around customs bit., as there are so many trade regulations in place.

Ooh, volume 16 of bladedance has been completed. It was missing a couple chapters when I checked a while back, think I'll start that while I wait for SukaSuka volume 5.
Thanks for recommendations!

Also on hard copies vs ebooks I like both, but have found ebooks to be more convenient lately as I'll always have them available wherever I go.
