So I just got back from the screening of Kizumonogatari part 3 and heres my opinion.

I love Shaft. They've really outdone themselves with the animation for this trilogy. The mix of actual real life footage, motion-capture technology and CGi for the fights, as well as their somewhat comical animation for a lot of the non-fight scenes to really emphasize the characters, just phenomonal.

There were a few things off about the trilogy, you'd have to read the LN to fully understand what went on behind the scenes between the fights. If you haven't read it the fight with GuiloteneCutter doesn't make as much sense, but they really managed to capture the emotions Araragi and Kiss-shot had to endure throughout the entire ordeal.

So yeah, aside from wishing they could've adapted a little bit more of what took place between the fights, I honestly couldn't ask for more. Leader of The Enemy ||

Can we take a moment to appreciate how Your Name delivered on the hype? The visuals, soundtrack, and
twists
were unbelievably well-executed, so much so that I'm probably going to see it again Friday. And on an academic level it had quite a few elements that resonated with an anthropology course I took last year called "Japan, Myth and Memory" which enhanced my appreciation of the film.

Haven't yet watched it. Still not particularly inclined to in all honesty. The story premise didn't really catch my eye, and I didn't feel like paying to watch something just because it was hyped up in the media.


On another note, someone please, PLEASE, knock some sense into me. For the first time ever, I am actually finding a character cute. This has never happened before, never. I, I don't know. I'm just at a loss. It's just never happened before. Leader of The Enemy ||

No, I don't think I have. I'll put it on the list to check out at some point. As it is, Backlog Everest is beginning to reach critical mass, in anime, manga/doujins, as well as VNs. I'm slowly making my way through my VN backlog, still have at least 30 of them let on there, with at least 10 being untranslated ones, which means they're a lot slower to work through.

But no, cutesy is something entirely different, a different kind of appeal. That is more the overall story. Heck, Monogatari has some cutesy moments, quite a few of them actually. But none of the ones I've gone through until now have actually had a character in the story that specifically made me think of them as cute, in an actual, emotional aspect.

I managed to come across this in Mahou Shoujo Ai however. Theres just something about Kagano Ai that gives me that feeling. I've just never experienced it before, not in fiction at least. Characters have always just been a driving force of the story, they've never really stood out.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit weirded out by it. But I'm just taking it as the story is just that well written. Leader of The Enemy ||

I went in unspoiled and open minded, knowing only the basic premise and having never seen a Shinkai film before, and was very impressed. It's rightfully deserving of the hype, though not the greatest movie ever as some have made it out to be.

Yeah, it got a Hentai OVA adaptation. I was talking about that in this very thread I think a month ago, may have been more. Started with a serious discusion about Bocu no Pico, as scary as that sounds, and soon made it's way into a discussion about the Hentai branch of anime.

Honestly, when it comes to the hentai genre, Mahou Shoujo Ai truly is top notch. Apart from the ryona style rape, it comes across as a mainstream anime.

Mahou Shoujo Ai isn't in the Nukige genre of eroge, thats for sure. Leader of The Enemy ||
