As prophesied, here I am lol.
I dunno if I would have called Rewrite 'bad', but it's still far from the best work that they've ever produced. Of course, it's also very different from anything that they had produced before as well, alot more adventure/combat aspects and less drama, plus the outsourcing of two scenarios and minimal contribution from Maeda to the scenarios. Of the initial promo stuff I saw for Harmonia, seems like they are going back to their original way of doing things, so I think of Rewrite mostly as an experiment.
Of course, Rewrite has that same little problem that Little Busters had, there's no realistic way to merge the routes without heavy changes to one of the critical points in the story. There's only one way I could think of to do it, but I can't help but feel that method would reduce peoples investment in the individual character arcs, which the story has problems with already (I only found one arc that properly did the job), and doesn't help the fact that the world ends multiple times.
As for the studio, well... it's not KyoAni. Hopefully 8-bit will do a better job (and contribute a better budget) than J.C Staff bothered with, but their roster of past work doesn't exactly fill me with confidence in their ability to execute. 12 series, 2 movies, only one of them is a visual novel adaptation (which varied in quality). Kinda low-key for something so high profile.
