Calling it now, 'Charlotte' is the name of a long-orbit comet.
So, who's liking what? So far this season I've covered:
-Charlotte
-Gakkou Gurashi
-Aoharu x Kikanjuu
-Joukamachi no Dandelion
-GATE
-Himouto! Umaru-chan
and a few short ones that dont really need talking about.
If I talk about Charlotte I'll fill multiple posts full of gushing, so I'll just not.
Dropping Aoharu x Kikanjuu because watching anime about your non-anime hobbies tends not to be a very good idea in my experience due to rage inducing factual inaccuracies. Plus, it makes me want to get on a plane to NZ so bad and I cant afford that right now.
Will give GATE some more before I decide to continue with it or not. The writing of the series is, frankly, awful. Rushed and condensed and sacrificing what could have been quite a spectacle, plus I feel like it will become more inane later. The only reason I'm considering keeping going with it is the fact that this is a premise I have wanted to see for a long time, usually when it comes to invading aliens/other dimensional beings/monsters/whatever humanity is always on the backfoot and usually only wins through a combination of phlebotinum, deus ex machina and luck. To see humanity kick ass of the bat is very refreshing.
Gakkou Gurashi is going to get to episode 3 with me depending on how much doom and gloom zombie apocalypse there is to balance out the cute. I like cute, but this show seems like without the undead it will be one of a diabetes causing few that are a little to sweet and saccharine for my taste. I already knew the hook, which is why I made it to the end of the first episode, but if it's only gonna be 30 seconds of the 'real world' and the rest in Yuki's delusional world of sugar and sweetness then I wont be able to stomach it.
Umaru-chan should probably have been a half-episode series at the very most, I dont think it has the substance it needs to be a full length series.
Joukamachi no Dandelion was meh.
