Not really an anime but I've been in LOVE with Roosters Teeth's animated series RWBY. Its nothing serious or anything thought provoking but i just love the comedy and every character is lovable even the villains. I'm saying this while jamming to the soundtrack, pretty good too!
I haven't been attached to a series since avatar/korra, which speaking about, season four starts in October. (srsly season three just ended i was expecting it to air next year)

I'm aware it's made in America, but RWBY is known to be an "anime inspired" series. Also i discovered and watch this show on Crunchyroll, which is the number one place i go to watch anime. I really don't care if it's made in Japan or not.
Animation is animation no matter where its made, or what language they are speaking.

So, to
Madoka Magica
is to
Spongebob
is to
Psycho Pass
is to
MLP:FIM
is to
Evangelion
? Cant say that I agree with that. The technology may be the same, but the thinking behind them varies considerably based on the ethnicity, values, world views and common understandings of their creators.
I'm an RT fan, I've been following RWBY since it's inception, and my view is that RWBY may be anime inspired, but it's certainly not anime. Rather, it's a hybridization of a western production team producing a western product for western consumers through a basic understanding of the trappings of eastern media. The bones of the plot are certainly animesque, but execution and core values of the series play to western tastes and have more in common with RT's established modus operandi (developed through making RVB) than they do with common anime sensibilities.
In summation, 'looking anime' is not the same as 'being anime'.

Ive watched a few episodes of something metal alchemist thing?
I didnt like it, but i paused alot.
Halp.
Well, anime is a wide and diverse medium that covers the full spectrum of genre and then some, so it's all a matter of finding the specific type you like. Can you give us some sort of indication as to what your general preferences are in terms of genre and theme.

I would give an anime three episode watch before you decide its worth your time to watch the entire series or not. You watched Full Metal Alchemist. Its a really popular series and i bet bunch of people here could attest to how good it is. But its not really my kind of genre. It's pretty dark, i'm more into lighthearted shows.
FMA is a kinda lengthy with two series. the first and brotherhood a "revamp." If you watch both it's over 100 episodes but most people just say to watch brotherhood.(60isheps)
My recommendation if you are new to anime, try to check out some of Hayao Miyazaki film. He has made many critically acclaimed movies such as Spirted Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke. My favorite one he made is Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

You do know that in Japan anime just means animation right? Spongebob is considered an anime-in japan. Only people not in japan take what makes an anime, an anime -so seriously- and i find it annoying. Here i am trying to talk about current favorite shows RWBY and Avatar but apparently i'm not allowed to? The first thing i even mentioned in my post that RWBY was NOT really an anime. And Avatar is probably better than most animes out right now. RWBY and Avatar have more plot similarities with 90% of animes than "american cartoons". Do you want me to bring discussion about these show on a fan forum where they talk about spongebob or family guy? i can't even

It's almost like you ignored everything he just said.
Edit: Oh wait, you did.
