I am reminded of something I saw out of the corner of my eye many years ago in a shop window. The shop was in a dingy part of London and was a shop that sold what I would describe as 'tat'.
But this object was so strange I did a double-take.
It was a sculpture that doubled as an ashtray.
It was of a famously evil (this is debated by some) and controversial figure from history lying in a hammock supported by a building he was associated with. The building was covered in skulls, guns and grenades. He was swigging from a bottle of whisky in one hand and had an item of drug paraphenalia in the other.
The icing on the cake was that it was an alarm clock as well as an ashtray.
Why? Who thought this was a good idea?
I mean in the unlikely event you are a supporter of this person, he was famously anti-alcohol and drugs.
So, literally something to offend everyone and super-bizarre to boot.
I bought nearly all of their stock of them. Made great 'wtf'-style gifts.
