Just bought 30x100 pack of toilet paper from walmart. Weird how the largest size costs less than the 30x80 pack by a few dollars.

Friday: picking up my last book I paid someone to order for me on Amazon.

Saturday: taking mom to greek restaurant. This time no drinks or dessert for either of us, just the one dish for each of us.

As a lot of our shops will be closed due to the imminent lockdown I've bought various bits and pieces for Christmas on line (won't bore anyone with the tedious details).

I'm not a big fan of computer shopping - I like to physically inspect the merchandise before I buy - but as I wasn't expecting another lockdown it's really caught me on the back foot. Normally in November I'd be scouring the shops for gifts etc. but I'm reduced to glaring at a screen wondering if my selection will actually remotely resemble the product advertised when it arrives. If it arrives at all.

I don't fancy leaving it until December when lockdown lifts because the shops will doubtless be a nightmare scrum as everyone descends in a short space of time.

I agree Fifi, much better to see the actual item before you buy it. I rarely shop online and would never buy clothes that way. For example, I'll see what looks like a nice dress but when I go up close the finish is shoddy or the material doesn't feel/look nice. Or if it passes that test when I put it on it might hang oddly due to wonky seams or simply doesn't suit me. The hassle of ordering and returning items and possibly struggling to get a refund? No thanks!

edit to add: recent purchases are 2 pairs of shoes and waterproofing spray and plants for the garden. I decided to get the shoes before the shops close. We hope its just for 4 weeks but I thought I'd better not chance it.
