I want to learn Russian so I can go there to live. But ive been told Russian is a difficult language to learn.
It's a Slavonic language, so all the hard work is done by changing noun cases (unlike English or French, where the verbs do the work). The difference can take some getting used to.
Also, Cyrillic alphabet is fun.

Yes! Thanks. I have been trying to learn online for free but I realize if I want to get serious I will have to pay to learn Russian.

Watch movies and TV programs in Russian with English subtitles. Not sure if RS had a Russian server, other games might; play them in Russian.
My son was/is interested in Russia too. Not sure if he still is, a few month (plus) a go he was. I tried to ask him why, he couldn't really say. I reckon it's because it's the biggest land mass as for a lot of years he was into the world map and knew a bit about the Russian Continent.

American author Robert Alexander wrote: "I love Russians for their dramatic, emotional nature. They're not afraid to love, not afraid to get hurt, not afraid to exaggerate or act impulsively".
^I stole that off Wikipedia
Edit: Your son sounds like a very "on to it" young man.
