Why do we have cooking urns but no other artisan urns? I can understand a crafting urn may be seen as redundant, but it really shouldn't and no reason any other should.
An urn or an aura. Cooking has both an urn and an aura, but no other artisan skill gets either or.
My best guess as the flameproof aura is made so as to make the most of your successes as there are failures like with no other artisan skill except to a lesser extent firemaking, so I guess I can see why. Because gathering skills too have a success rate and there really is no failure for a gathering skill only a rate of success. We used to have an iron ore smelting failure rate, there no longer is one of those, we even had enchanted jewelry for the sole purpose of reducing these failure rates. Now they cost less iron ore to create bars because they now take 2 iron ore instead of 1; so with these enchanted jewelry instead of 2 they take 1, instead of having a better chance to have success because that iron ore wasn't deemed impure and came to nothing as a result.
I don't see why we can't have an aura to occasionally reduce smelting or smithing rates, and an aura to occasionally reduce rates of resources in other skills as well, whether by occasionally doubling the objects made from one resource or taking less to make a material of that type, one or the other would be a nice purpose for an aura. An urn would be a more difficult thing to rationalize as there is no failure rate, but there can however be an urn failure rate applied so you don't always have an urn experience despite never failing to create an item, it can just not count towards your urn always, and that would offset the fact that there is no failure rate to the skill. So you only get experience to count towards the urn occasionally and then it cannot be seen as just guaranteed experience at a consistent rate which would in turn make it like any other skill that is given an urn.
