TL;DR: I'd love a toggle-able option regarding other people's customizables, resulting in a less busy/less frustrating screen, which may also reduce trolling.
More details: With the addition of Necromancy, as well as recent double XP events, I've noticed just how busy RuneScape gets, which is amazing!
I also love that RS has added so many fantastic customizations & skins, but it's also led to trolling & busy screens.
As of now, RS has a default model option for PCs that are far away. My proposal is a scaled (choose some percentage via dropdown or something) option to turn on or off default models, including spells/teleports & skins (if possible). This could be something like, toggle 25/50/75/100% default player models, and it reduces the number of customs you can see.
The default models being active during the spring & beach & dxp events are amazing on mobile, but I think something should be available and toggle-able for PC users, as well.
Just on Facebook alone, there were dozens of complaints about users trolling on the Ritual site for Necromancy—people dressed a ghosts and/or using auras that were confusing, skins blocking sight because they're so large, giant tornados (?) in the middle of the site, also inhibiting visuals.
I don't think these things should be taken away, of course! I just think the option to turn them off would be nice, without impeding others' enjoyment of the game. Personally, seeing so much happening on the screen at once can be stressful, and I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling that way.
