Hello Kyle8497,
Thanks for the thoughts.
I envisioned training to be similar to fletching. We kill hundreds of creatures here in the lands of RS and an extremely small percentage drop any form of meat. I see this an an opportunity.

All of these creatures could drop some form of a carcass. These could then be butchered using a knife and sold to folks that would cook the then processed meat and turn it into food. An example would be when you kill a green dragon. The drop would include a dragon carcass.
You could sell this carcass as it is to someone working on their Butchery skill or butcher it yourself and sell the dragon steak to someone working on their cooking skill or cook the steak yourself and then use it for the food needed to kill another dragon.

There are hundreds of creatures to set up as different levels. You could add a butchery shop to your POH and add different tools for added xp.
This would support all your combat skills where a creature is killed and definitely support the cooking skill without adding even more to an already very diverse skill.

candy drippa,
"ya you know i think i heard of somthing like that... its called cooking!"
- As I've mentioned many times here, cooking and butchery are very different things. Nowhere in the game of Runescape do you take a carcass and process it into another form of meat that you then cook.
"if animals already drop the meat why mess w/ it and make it more complicated?"
- Of the hundreds of creatures we can kill in this game I can only think of a half dozen or so that drop a piece of meat. Try to think out of the box for a couple minutes.
"it is a game! not real life... mage isnt real so next youre gona say lets get rid of that too?"
- You really lost me on this as I never suggested we get rid of anything. What are you talking about?
I'm suggesting we add something to the game.

The variety of folks and opinions here in the world of Runescape certainly make it an interesting place.

I keep hearing things like:
"Why mess w/ it and make it more complicated"
"Raw chicken its far simpler"
"Why make a whole new skill"
I personally would like to see the game more complicated rather than easier.
I would like to see more skills rather than fewer.
I have no problem with adding skills even if they could be added to another skill.
We just waited over 2 years for the latest skill to come out and another 2 years for summoning before that.
How long is it going to be before the next one?

Great suggestion!
But i allready find cooking boring enough without having to add yet another similar skill into it, its like crafting + cooking, not a very exhilarting thing in my opinion.
Maybe expand your ideas, not everybody can see anything else you wrote on other pages, so make the first page thread larger, just so more people can see what you wrote.
But you have a good imagination, so well done!

Well...I like the enthusiasm, but I dont think this would happen. You see, there is already a ton of this around us. When you talk about carcass's, I think about snakes. You see, there is an Activity out there that when you kill the snake, you can skin the carcass for well...snakeskin. Also, if you've ever done Tia Bow Wanni Trio, then you would remember the Karambwan, and their poisonous nature when cooked wrong. On a last note, if you barbarian fish with a rod, you can catch salmon and whatnot, and cut them open for roe, if you want cavior, you have tto catch a sturgeon. Mainly used in potions, the caviour is edible by itself. We have a few of these things implemented into the game as is, we dont need a whole new skill for it. We could add more to cooking, like more gourmet foods, but a whole butchery section would be to much. Thanks though, it's a good idea.
Good luck. :D
