The well-known problem of RuneScape. Mindlessly reporting them is boring and tedious. I've PKed over 250+ of them at the Rev Caves, and I feel discouraged because it feels like I'm fighting a losing war on my own, and, in fact, we are losing the war.

So let's turn this into a positive and fun activity by addressing the bot issue.

We should be able to detect a botter; we already can with our eyes and understanding of the bots. However, there should be an extra detection system to live detect and confirm bots. By doing so, you would prevent the bot from logging out or teleporting, thus trapping the bot.

After trapping the bot, additional systems should detect any legitimate human activity, presenting puzzles or asking questions to further confirm on the spot that it is indeed an actual bot. We also need to consider that they can use AI.

Killing & Looting:

After 100% confirmation of the bot, we should be able to kill them anywhere in the game and receive some sort of rewards for doing so—materials or GP. Of course, the player should also undergo a bot check to prevent botters from abusing this system in the future.

Players enjoy a bit of a challenge, so I would suggest that they can be killed, but it shouldn't be too easy.

Suggested Rules:

The Bots:

- No logging out or teleporting.
- Unable to run, only walk.
- The ability to fight back.

If the player gets killed by the bot, they won't lose their items, but missing out on killing the bot will mean missing out on potential rewards.

I`m open for suggestions, so what do you think?

so you are saying, that a player should be able to do this?

or that jagex do this after the bot has been detected by jagex?

if its the first one, this would be abused like nobodies business. being able to make it so a player can not log out, be attacked? this will be used on everyone not just bots. bad bad bad
sure there are some obvious bots. but others not so much, not to mention people think "this person isnt saying anything" "this person has a lot of xp" = bot when it does not always mean that.

what would there be stopping me, using this on you? (apart from my morality)

if its the 2nd one, after jagex have detected them. why? they can just ban them

I can see where you're going with a bot bounty hunter program kind of thing, but I think this would enable botting or justify it as part of the game when we should be repelling it and holding a stance of "do not bot under any circumstances". Jagex would basically be saying " Don't bot! But if you do... "

A system like this would also probably have to be a kernel-level anti-cheat which I really don't expect from RuneScape and a lot of keyboard warriors have their reservations on kernel-level software.
