This idea is awesome, I hope it gets implemented.

It could also be worthwhile to designate anfew worlds as music worlds where people who want people to hear their music can go, that way people who have their speakers on will know where to go to hear player music.

Also open composition is a must, I saw several pages back a rough outline of a function to track and play iser provided notes, that is the kind of thing that would make this a fun addition and mot just another skill to grind.

As a musician myself, I definitely have a soft spot for this idea.

Really well thought-out and a very interesting read!

I've been thinking about a music guild. This guild is similar to a music school. It will provide instrument to players so players don't have to bring their own instruments. There will be no level requirement, however, some quest completions may be needed.

An interesting idea that lit up in my head while thinking about the music guild is a fee to enter the school. The school will have multiple levels of classes. The lower level classes cost less gp to enter while higher level classes cost more gp to enter.

I'm still thinking about XP rates and possible rewards in the music guild.

Thanks for all the supports :P

Support! And if they could make this work with ABC files that would be amazing. Although there would need to be an option added that would allow you to turn down "Player Instruments" so that thirty people fletching simultaneously in world 2 won't just fill players ears with discordant combinations of music.

And maybe as a bonus to 99, make it so your music causes players standing still near you dance to the music, much like the citadel dance floor.

First of all, I want to say: Wow, that's a lot of work and so many thoughts were put into this, so you deserve a round of applause :D

Looks like most players commenting support the idea, without giving much a fight or sharing what they thought was good, was bad or had to be improved. So i'mma give my 2 cents here.

If we xp while skilling : it's just like invention (you have perks as you level up, and it makes you train 2 skills at a time (if you siphon)).

If we xp standing still : ... we have already so many AFK skills.

If we xp visiting musicians or areas : Ok that's not AFK but that's gonna be tedious. It'd feel like a clue scroll but less rewarding. "Go to listen to Sea Shanty" .... +500xp, "Now go listen to Castle Wars music" ... +1k xp. And it's already an achievement that gives incentive to go explore areas.

So, I personnally do not support this new skill because in my eyes it's another Invention Batch (where you could make instruments that hold perks).

What could be better? Well, if we have to stick to music, there's not much else to offer. We can't ask players to compose partitions. We're already sending people to explore areas for music for achievements and comp requirement.

Perhaps instead of having a skill around music we could make unlocking musics give better rewards for some perks unlocked from.. a musician.

But overall, good effort though :)
