Apologies, you don't have a suggestions forum for current bugs - I'll be sure not to 'rant'.

Problem: A graphical update/upgrade some years back spurred crashes for many users.

Current solution: I have tried every advice ever given on the subject, it appears hopeless, respectfully.

Suggestion: A clean client, with lesser or simpler rendering modules for users currently unsupported by the RS3 client by Jagex.

I know this is asking a lot, but.. I can't play, or stand to miss another event - Re-subbing currently. Would appreciate help & if there is a better place for this thread, that it be moved.

Ah, another person who didn't read the full post. Quick code given for a reason - This problem has persisted through 3 new machines after the original, and I'm aware many people do Not have this bug occur.

I'm here to inform you, however, of these 4 machines the bug has persisted through, none of them have been the same: Different processor makers, different graphics cards, each with a different maker, with this EXACT reason in mind.

As for your issue, if you've had four different machines, it sounds like one of two things is going wrong for you:

1. None of the four machines you have owned reach the minimum specification to run RS.

or

2. You have downloaded/installed something on each of your PCs that interacts with the RS registry/game files and causes crashes.


Since this is most certainly not a widespread problem, you should probably look at what you are doing with your PCs.


As for your suggestion, I agree that a lightweight client that has no settings above minimum would be useful for many people.

Are all these machines running Windows 10/11? Seems a very strange problem.

Make sure that the Jagex Launcher does not autorun on system startup as that can sometimes cause issues. Otherwise as A Cole suggested, you may very well have another program which is blocking RS client from properly running.
