I agreed that we don't want the magic notepad, I said for differing reasons. I agree we don't want to make high level content obsolete. Unless, unless that high level content is something that shouldn't be high level content to begin with. Since it is relatively new high level content especially we don't want it to become obsolete, but if it were old high level content the game needs to broaden it's appeal and sometimes that need offend people with high level content if it is something that doesn't belong being high level content.
Let me give you the greatest example of this the Massive pouches you needed many of because of degrading. They made the non-degrading pouches relic, anyone with a lot of Runespan points now has many useless points, 90 Runecrafting is a high level content thing, and now the runespan is solely for exp because you only need one massive pouch with the non-degrading pouch relic considering there is the option to have no pvp in wild, there's no risk of losing the only pouch you need. I'm only saying it happens. I will grant you new content should be kept current as long as it can, but to say it should never be outdated I wouldn't agree with, because if a better idea comes along you don't want to let a worse idea keep something better from happening.
Consider this, when something new comes out in the market, I'll keep it to game terms because otherwise it would be off topic, so say something new comes out in the game a new weapon of a type you pay a lot for it when it is new, but later on players can get it cheap especially when something new and better comes out. You don't chase after the gp you spent on the now old weapon, you accept other players can get it much cheaper than you because there's something newer and better. Sometimes this has to happen with time spent on the game too, because sometimes they have to offend older players to broaden the appeal of the game, someone such as yourself must understand this.
