Since returning to OSRS (Before my break I last played in 2011), there have been a few changes that I like.
Combat:
* The game now remembers your attack style per weapon type, so if you're a pure/zerker using a whip on accurate and a bow on rapid, you don't have to worry about getting unwanted defence xp using the wrong style as you switch back from the bow to the whip. I can also use my dragon dagger on aggressive, switch back to whip and it will be still on accurate.
* I can attack higher combat lv opponent without needing to open the right click menu. This is huge and cannot be understated. Previously the disadvantage of being lower level than your opponent wasn't just.. well.. you're lower level, but also you have to right click, which is more cumbersome. Thanks a lot for this!
Items:
* Some interesting new items have been added to the game, including more powerful ranged weapons, and magic gear that can increase damage, compared to previously where melee was just really overpowered. Still I think scaling of damage for magic could be made level dependent instead of just spell and item dependent e.g. bronze arrows deal more damage at lv 99 than at lv 1, but wind strike deals the same damage at lv 99 as at lv 1. This is why magic spells are still only used for PKing or boss fights where the cost of high level spells is justified, but not used for regular training or slayer tasks.
PKing:
* Yay, no more bounty hunter, we have the old wilderness back where you simply get the items dropped by the opponent. I'm very happy about this.
