Which Halloween event? The RS3 or the OSRS event?
Personally, I loved BOTH 2020 Halloween events. OSRS had a nice old school event, with some good humor. And Eve and her undead friends who have returned to Gielinor to party are wonderful new characters. Made me wish I could meet them and party with them in RL (we're in the midst of a pandemic - they'd be the safest people to have a party with since they're already dead, after all).
I also liked the moral expressed by Eve and her ghost friend Hogst - that people should never be in so much of a hurry to achieve stuff that they can't just stop, relax, and have a good time. It's a sentiment more RS players should keep in mind.
RS3's Halloween event was a great return to form. The 2015-2018 events were very short on humor and fun, but THIS event had lots of humor and fun moments in its dialogue. Loved how it's pointed out that by now, our character has seen plenty of ghosts. The dialogue in Muncher's, Famine's, and Pestilence's quests was full of the lighthearted fun we came to expect from events like the 2009-2011 events.
The rewards were interesting, though I kind of wish the Muncher pet had a 'Talk to' option so we could do the 'Lassie' parody from 2014 again (where we speculate about Goblin Village being the location for the next Gielinor games, or Bandos being rebuilt as Mecha-Bandos, etcetera, or Marimbo chasing Holstein, etcetera). All in all, it was a lot more fun than the dark and humorless 2018 event with Moia and the rift.
So yes, two great Halloween events in one year. Compliments to both OSRS and RS3.
