The reveal of Necromancy as RS3's next skill has me incredibly excited. There's
so much
stuff that can be done with the idea of raising and controlling the dead, and after Archaeology turned out to be a fantastically executed skill back in 2020, my expectations are quite high indeed. I haven't been this excited for a new skill since Summoning came out in '08.
I also want to stress how happy I am that Necromancy is going to be a standalone skill, and not just a sub-branch of Magic like it is in OSRS. While I was feeling confident in my prediction that the new skill would be Necromancy for a variety of reasons, there was this nagging doubt in the back of my mind that it could have been regulated to a mere spellbook instead; having it as a full skill should really give it some room to breathe and live up to its full potential.
Suffice to say that I will be awaiting further news on RuneScape's 29th skill with bated breath.
