It looks like something has changed with iron ore. I thought that it was going to come down to around 400 where its floor has been for 2021, but these last two bounces have established a trend of higher highs and higher lows. It seems to be in a nice upward channel using the 30 day moving average as support.
I think a price of just under 600 should be achieved over the next week-week and a half.

I'm sorry your iron ore merch attempt didn't pan out.
what even is the point for comments like this lol, this guy is just trying to spark a conversation and learn from other people's opinion of an item. Isn't this what ID is all about?
Anyway, so what if he is merching them, merching/flipping items with calculated speculation is a part of the game and it can be very fun.
Personally I look more long term for items rather than a week and a half as I suck at analysing short term trends lol.
Can't say much about the short term but its long term graph looks promising, maybe the demand exceeded supply since the mining and smithing rework, also the demand for steel bars maybe increasing due to cannonballs and an increasing player-base, who knows

Don't trust any pc's listed, any advice or talks between posts on ID forums anymore , the Manips are let loose, especially the main one with 15+ accounts posting acting as different people.. do your own research

I think you are right on the steel bars. Both coal and steel bars are on a similar uptrend. Its not clear to me what the steel bars are needed for. None of the profits are much to write home about for steel finished goods. Mithril, which is available just 10 levels later, has a lot higher profit margins.
I appreciate that your thread was to discuss the trends in iron ore prices over recent months but that could be seen as an attempt to manipulate the price of the item. For this reason, this thread is now closed.
