The cerveza sickness has made new and old players playing the game more, and already excisting player base plays even more. Both new and older players buys ingame wealth with bond to "catchup", train skill or buy equipment. Playing more means more time for moneymaking.

This all leads to general more ingame wealth, and many just want to hold value in actual items/resources due to fact that gp is litterally worth nothing.

Big wealth gaps in RS. Players struggle with costs early on, and then wealth takes off. There's not much difference between someone with 5b and someone with 500b. Access to content is largely the same, assuming prayers and abilities are unlocked and not counted in wealth.

Drop an ECB in an amulet, and you're poor again. Unlock the three prayers, and you're poor again. etc. When all that's done with, you can start accumulating real wealth. I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

If you distinghuish 3 groups and think the wealth is so 'evenly' distributed!

By far the biggest group of people havent ever gotten 1b in cash.
Middle class would probably be measured in 100m and not in billions.
High class could be 1-5b and there is a crazy rich group of the 0.1% that has tens of billions.
100b+ isnt even on the measurement stick! For all your token unlocks & POF animals (Ardy and RooT)

I'm going to have to agree with Dance D Revo, but maybe not quite so exaggerated. I spend a decent amount of time in the noobier areas of RuneScape, mostly to encourage new players, and there are a very large number of these players (total level between the base level and something like 2000). I'd say 90%+ of them only have 100m or less. Honestly, I'd say at least half don't even have 50m.

However, there is also something approaching an equally large number of "legacy" players. With regards to them, I'd have to say they probably do control somewhere between 500m and max cash on average (if you cut out the top 0.1% of players from this group, who would warp the average, with their multiple sets of phats, etc.).

Given the huge gap, I don't think you can really talk about the "average" RS player's wealth and have the answer be meaningful. You might come up with a realistic number, weather it's 200m or 500m or even 5b, but the fact will remain that there are some pretty distinct camps of players. There's those who are new or only infrequently play the game (first group), those that have played the game a long time and have developed a lot of wealth through tons of time invested (larger percentage of the second group), and those that engage in merching and associated practices (smaller, but far richer, percentage of the second group).

Of course, none of this takes into account the higher turnover of newer players and/or various other factors.

TL;DR: 420gp.

C'mon you can't believe that to be true.

I would put the average wealth around 1B to be honest, maybe as high as 2B. But it's hard to say exactly.

you really overestimate people wealth, of course this question asked on forums used only by high end players , will give a very high wealth opinions. i really doubt that more of 10% of player base has more than max cash stack in total wealth value
