Was talking to some ppl the other day about hoarders, which got me curious…

What’s the fattest stack of rares you’ve seen hoarded by one person? The two I heard that blew my mind were 2,700 santas owned by one person, and 3,000 xmas scythes owned by another.

What’s the craziest stacks you all have seen in recent history?

Do you think these kinds of hoarders would ever sell their stocks, or are these rares essentially “gone” from the market?

How might the lifting of max cash promote more/less hoarding? Buy/sell/upgrade/downgrade lower rares/edibles, PM me in game or dm on discord Freshly Hot#4940

I don't think many players will want to reveal their 'current' stock as that might devalue them. Vested interests and all that jazz. So keep that in mind with what responses you get on here, lol. You may get some old print screens (some photoshopped ones) or old stories.

If people knew how many rares there were in game (officially) that'd affect prices (and I don't think it'd cause them to rise). Jagex seem to be very careful about not causing panic. So I guess we're at the mercy of hoarder price checkers, we'll have to see what they do! I'm most curious to find out how Jagex will decide G/E prices of rares, I assume it'll be manual at first.

The max cash lift will increase supply... but as long as there's this 2% global tax, most folk will just trade them p2p. Those that use G/E might add 2% on top of whatever the 'street price' is. Over time, that +2% would increase their price (I'm guessing). But I still think people will be taking their numbers from what merch clans / hoarders say. So, manipulation will continue.

That said, rares could just as easily go down. The G/E is a great convenience. Taking a 60m cut from a 3b rare is not the end of the world. These are the margins most players on the rare trading forums are quoting day-in/day-out. 'bought such and such for 2.45b, sold for 2.5b' etc. But it's different when we're talking +20b party hats, isn't it. Honestly, who knows...

I'm keeping hold of my Santa no matter what, I made the mistake of selling when they were dropping in price in the past, then I couldn't buy it back. Now I just treat it as an untradeable.

The most rare's I've seen in one trade? not as many as others quote! Hm, 100x santas maybe? Bob says:

if i remember correctly, there was a trade of 100 santa hats for 1 xmas cracker in or around 2021. besides that all ive heard were stories about a guy owning alot of pumpkins and another guy owning like 3k santas, not actual facts besides that trade ive seen come by around 2021.
(the guy that said he owned 3k santas ended up scamming a friend of mine for a bond....). so we could assume without proof its all just a haux. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.
