nah profit margins will be smaller, everything drop
without g e people can manip hundreds of mills off buy and add hundreds on to sell

why do you think margins be smaller?
santa hat is probably a good example, it used to be around 1b then jumped to 2b rapidly and quickly went over max cash and up to 5b in short amount of time. I think without the ge the market is basically hearsay and a few people can easily manipulate the price in a direction that benefits them. but with the ge there's really no reason to trade someone 1:1 it makes more sense to just put your offer in the system and hope you get a match, which naturally makes it harder for someone to flip at higher margins if everyone is using the same system.

perhaps the rare market is so low that it won't effectively make a difference, but at the very least buying rares on the ge has saved me a few times from a large margin loss. ie someone around me trying to sell a santa for 500m and I put in an offer on the ge and get it at 480m instantly. it will be hard to manipulate upward when anyone can put a smaller offer in the ge to 'test' what the real value is. and this will update the guide price over time, I assume

Firstly people will trade in person, due to the tax. I think as long as you can trade in person you will get price manipulators. You might have more chance to get a rare for low price through the g.e but the value will not match what you buy for in g.e

hmm that's a good point, I forgot that the tax exists now. but I think you will still see people like me who first try to buy a rare for a lower value (tax included) rather than the value a random guy on the street is trying. and if that rare was listed on the ge such that its value + tax was less than the seller nearby, it will still have the same effect. At one point, I had over 100 pumpkins and 20 half full wine jugs.

A friend of mine had about 11-12 partyhat sets, 36 christmas crackers, and a very large 3rd age collection.

More recently (within the past year), I've seen someone with over 2,000 Golden Partyhats.
