Why is it bad to erase a post if you decide to do so?

Not trying to make drama, but wondering since if it was deleted, being reposted by someone else isn't nice

It's as if someone wanted to remain annonymous on a transaction, the post may be deleted.

Sorry for offtopic, it's just that it's people's choice to keep a post or not I guess
