Some time ago, people were saying that this was due to a high demand for Yak Track skip tokens. However, the price did drop for a few days afterwards, which suggests the demand has been satisfied. Is the latest price hike due to the RuneLite HD-related boycotts?

There's a lot more GP in the game now due to Arc-Glacor - his common drops at even low rages are mostly raw GP and alchables. Thus, more GP, more demand for bonds as they're effectively 'free' membership and XP if you convert to keys.

One of the reasons, yes.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

How come bonds have gotten so expensive?

There's been a lot of bond related uses in the past months like the 2nd chance of this years premium membership return, the yak track, the lucky dip reclaimation service, the newly added skilling bundles.
The new boss that was added also as Simon said brought more gp into the game causing people to have even more gp to spend on buying bonds.
Also not many people buying bonds with IRL cash with the pandemic being a reason of the supply being low.
For future reference you should be posting off topic questions like that in the first thread that is stickied labeled
Item Discussion Chat Lounge
, since price check threads are focused on and used for price checking the items in those threads.
