I use to want to remain anonymous so that when flipping an item players wouldn’t know that I was buying or selling them an item at a higher or lower price then I had previously traded for. Simple as that, it’s mostly merchants that remain anonymous. Would you want to sell your item to someone who was profiting off you.

I mean there are valid reasons for some people as a public register saying you are extremely wealthy just makes you a target for scammers/lurers etc... It is quite annoying dealing with the scum of runescape. I think the real problem is that people dont really care about the rare price except a kinda dartboard ballpark to know how much they need to save up to u/g or enter the market. Which is very easy to manipulate as most of those players who are looking at those prices are just trying to buy/sell instantly, similar to the +/-5% and +/-20% buttons on the GE. If you are a newer merchant/wealthy player you either have to learn about the market for a while or just accept the inflated prices and move on. Mass contributor to deaths coffers.

It's not against the rules to post names even if they want to be anonymous for the trade. Really speaking if the post is within the rules they can't even report it as no rules were broken and said post or posts shouldn't be removed.

Also the Community people who do the prices can make the call to add or reject ANY trade posted. They do not have to take everything posted as fact. If it looks fishy then I'd personally ignore it and move on. Thats Me though.
